WEAKNESSES

‘Weaknesses’ is a proposal from the Leo Collective focusing on the creation of duets. As we believe in plurality, horizontality and multiplicity within artistic discourse and find existing definitions often limiting, we have decided to create our own terms for specific subjects and roles. Below, you can find the terms and some words of association or inspiration. It is not an exhaustive list of the function of each subject.

• Weakness: Creation/performance 

• Stayer: Dramaturg/outside eye/mediator

• Waiters: Performers/collaborative researchers  

• Leaver: Invited choreographer/creator/maker/director

This first edition entitled ‘Job Exchange’ invites 4 Leavers to create a Weakness in collaboration with the Waiters and with the ongoing support of the Stayer, deriving from the same source material. The source material is identical for all Leavers. The Leavers respond or ignore as they see fit. These 4 Weaknesses will be put together into a final collaged performance, curated by the Stayer.
