Adfelion
Myths of drowned Welsh kingdoms are not confined to legend; they continue to echo through modern Wales. ‘Adfeilion’ explores the intersection of myth and historical reality, referencing legends like ‘Cantre’r Gwaelod’ and the historical floodings and erasure of villages. Through inhabiting and embedding ourselves in these local Welsh landscapes, we commemorate the resilience and courage of Welsh communities facing cultural erasure and displacement and how these tragedies sparked political action and advocacy. These submerged landscapes continue to haunt Wales, standing as enduring reminders of our cultural resilience.
